New fiber optic high speed internet is now flowing into the Hobart Historical Society. The internet service will enhance capacity for the volunteer staff to research and serve guests visiting the museum building located in downtown Hobart.
“We have some exciting projects digitizing information that we are working to make accessible through our www.hobarthistory.org website,” said Chris Kosovich, Treasurer of the Hobart Historical Society and leader of the internet upgrade initiative.
“We had been working on a very low speed internet connection with outdated hardware that was more than twelve years old.
I think it’s really inspiring to see the Hobart Historical Society take a meaningful step into the future by upgrading to high‑speed fiber optic internet, as this not only modernizes their operations but also expands their ability to research, digitize, and share Hobart’s rich local history with a wider audience; for a volunteer‑driven organization that had been relying on outdated, low‑speed connectivity, this upgrade will likely make their work more efficient and accessible, ultimately benefiting both the staff and the community of visitors and history enthusiasts they serve.
